Takeaways

If I had a few takeaways to remember for my future self, whether that be from the work that I've done here or the advice that I've received from other people, I would definitely want my future self to remember:

  • Take advantage of each opportunity at Warner Music. Any opportunity to learn more about roles or departments, or to join an ERG meeting and learn about what different teams and divisions at WMG do, can help you do better in your own role.

  • Lean into collaboration and remember that collaboration and communication come first here at Warner. Seeing the intersection between Atlantic and Rhino, or even just all the departments within Rhino itself, is a reminder for my future self of how interconnected every team is when pushing toward the same goals.

  • Lean into your own ideas, protect and project your creative vision, and make your impact. From a lot of the people I've met, I've really gained the understanding that nobody has a rulebook on everything you need to know about the music industry since so much of it is fluid. Remember that your ideas matter, and try not to have impostor syndrome.

Girl Like Me

I picked the song “Girl Like Me” by PinkPantheress just because of how fun it is; I think it’s a good reflection of the way that my experience at WMG thus far has been for me! I have truly had such an amazing time here, met so many amazing friends that I’ll forever have in this industry, and contributed to amazing music here at WMG! My biggest takeaway from this past year is that I wouldn’t have had it any other way, and I wanted to remind my future self of how enjoyable my first year working in the music industry has been, and I’m so grateful for that!
