BMG
Global Catalog Recordings Marketing Intern | Spring 2026
New York, NY
I spent the Spring 2026 semester at BMG on their Global Catalog Recordings Marketing team within the Local & Label Catalog division. There, I was really able to dive into the marketing world, which I have always been drawn to. I focused on optimizations for DSPs and on developing global catalogs, tracking and uploading assets for a variety of projects, report on physical and streaming data across BMG's catalog.
Reflecting on my time at BMG for my future self, I’m incredibly proud of how much I learned about the international music marketplace. I got to work with a truly global portfolio, ranging from acquired catalogs like Albert Productions (Australia) and classical music, all the way to modern releases from AJR and Chief Keef. It gave me a real understanding of how international music evolves and connects people. A major highlight was attending the Bertelsmann AI convention, which helped me see the bigger picture of how music fits into a massive global corporation. I walk away with a deep understanding of the industry's international scope, and I know my future self will fully capitalize on these global learning opportunities.

Bruno Mars
The first artist that came to mind was Bruno Mars. While I was at BMG, Bruno Mars had a joint publishing deal with both BMG & Warner Chappell. I think that made me realize how fluid and interconnected the music industry really is. An artist might only be affiliated with Warner through publishing or have a joint deal with another company. I found it interesting seeing how non-linear the industry can be because I would include Bruno Mars for Chappell pitch decks, but when I transitioned to BMG, they included him in their publishing world.
